Governing Board Composition

The West Bay Christian Academy Board of Trustees is a twelve member, independent board voted into office by the West Bay Christian School Association, Inc. There is also, within the Board, a four member appointed Pastors’ Council. The Board is ultimately responsible for the well-being and stability of the Academy. The main responsibilities are to set broad policies and hire the Head of School. Every member serves on a sub-committee, which serve in an advisory capacity to both the Head and the Board as a whole. Those committees are (with their corresponding Chair):

  • Education (Sandra Ensey and Kathleen Mainor, co-chairs),
  • Facilities (Topper Jones)
  • Finance (Jason Walden),
  • Human Resources
  • Institutional Advancement (Peter Worthington)
  • Technology (Royston Kane).

Board meetings are generally the third Monday of each month (please check the calendar to confirm date).  Meetings are open to all parents, faculty and staff.
