West Bay Christian Academy Celebrates Opening of New Early Childhood Wing

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI – August 21, 2009 – West Bay Christian Academy (www.westbaychristianacademy.com) will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of opening its new six classroom early childhood wing on the first day of the new school year, Tuesday, September 1st at 8:30am, at 475 School Street in North Kingstown. The new wing allows for the introduction of a pre-school program and expanded classrooms and programs throughout the school.

“We’re thrilled to be opening the doors of our new wing which not only helps our current students and teachers, but gives us the opportunity to bring more students in to our school family—including preschoolers. During a time when many public schools are dealing with overcrowded classrooms, budget shortfalls, and program cutbacks, West Bay Christian Academy can offer a strong and engaging academic program in a caring, nurturing environment—all at an extremely reasonable price--to even more families,” said Headmaster Dr. Richard Clarkson.

Funds were raised for the 6,500 square foot addition through fundraising and private donations from the parents, the community and school alumni. “The effort by our supporters has been tremendous,” commented Clarkson, “some very special people, particularly co-founder Doug Brush, along with our parent volunteers, board and area churches worked diligently and prayerfully to bring this building to life.”
