Dear Parents,
Welcome back to another fantastic year! Hopefully you have all settled in and gotten back into your routines.
I wanted to take this chance to introduce myself as the PVB President. I am Tina Richter, mom to Brady (4th) and Bryce (2nd). Our family is starting its 3rd year here at WBCA and this is my 2nd year as PVB President. You will see me or my name a lot this year. If you get a chance please stop me and introduce yourself.
As many of you know we had our new family/student BBQ the end of August. Another successful event!
Many thanks to our PVB board and many other volunteers for making it happen!
The new PVB board met quite a few times during the summer planning this school year. Our biggest question was not how much we can raise doing fundraisers, but rather how can we bring the school, parents and faculty together as a whole community. With all our hard work last year and I might add successful events, many have been asking if we are bring back many of the fun activities and the answer is YES!
We will be starting the year with our Bingo/Ice Cream Social this Friday the 18th at 7pm. All you have to do is bring a candy bar as your admission. (Please note, if you don’t want to walk away with a big bag of candy in the end…LOSE :0)! )
Our Yard Sale this year will be held off campus at Sandy and Topper Jones’ home in East Greenwich. So many thanks to them for opening up their home on October 3rd. Why are we having it at a home versus school this year? We will most likely generate more traffic being in a neighborhood. We also do not have a container this year to store all our donations as our construction crew generously allowed us to use their space. You all should have received a flyer. Please check it and our website out for what we are and are not taking this year.
On October 10th join us at Schartner Farms for Muffin’s N Mazes. Our group will meet in one area, have some drinks and donuts, and jump on the hay ride to pick your own pumpkin and back to enjoy the rest of your day! Please look on the website and Bulletin for more information.
Our Christmas Concert will be the first week of December, please check website, and following the New Year our Father/Daughter dance, Mother/Son event, baseball game or hockey game and closing out the year Field Day!
There are many, many more things going on at our school so please continue to read your Bulletin and always check the website!
We hope you and your children are enjoying this school year and that we see you at some of the PVB meetings and events. There is so much to do to continue our path to success that we want everyone to be a part of something wonderful! God has given so much in this school alone that this is our chance to service Him and give back to our community.
One plug for the teachers, PLEASE look at your schedule and try and work in some time to volunteer during their lunch hour. Not only do they appreciate it, but your kids REALLY take notice and appreciate it as well.
If you have any questions about volunteering or getting involved with the PVB I am always available to answer your questions.
God Bless,
Tina Richter
