Mrs. Felkel's 8th graders collected boxes from every classroom for their school-wide food drive to support the Providence Rescue Mission, an organization committed to helping the homeless.

At Thanksgiving time, stuffing, gravy and pumpkin pie are often desired items.  The food the West Bay students collected was a bit more diverse.  Jalapeño peppers, rice and beans topped the list of requested items.  The students learned those who are served by the mission are often from different cultures and prefer different foods.  The 8th graders felt strongly about providing goods which would show their care and would be enjoyed by those in need.
